I'm twenty-one years old & was born on October 13th 1988 into Thatcherite Britain. I'm English, but I live in Caridff, the Capital City of Wales; it rains quite a lot here, but not as much as in the rest of Wales. Swings & roundabouts.
I'm at university studying history & I'm a massive history nerd, but it gets a little irritating when people find out you're doing a history degree & attempt to "test" your historical knowledge. I don't know the whole of history, so please don't quiz me. And being British, you can probably guess that I know mostly European history, but I love it. I know way too much about Hitler (ask Candy!), but that's because of the British school syllabus. It's not because I'm a fascist. =) I graduate university in 2011.
I'm the youngest of 3; my sister is 4 years older than me & my brother is 12 years older than me. My mum was 40 & my dad was 42 when I was born. As such, I've been able to do whatever the fuck I want for my whole life because they basically couldn't be bothered.
My birthday is shared with the oh-so-lovely Margaret Thatcher.
I'm quite left-wing. I was once told "you're so far left, you're practically living in Stalin's back yard". I don't see how believing in equality is a bad thing.
I love music. I wish I could say I had diverse taste and listened to everything, but I really don't. Musical snob? Maybe. Musical Nazi? No fucking way. You can listen to what you want. You have your taste, I have mine. Just don't try and make me listen to stuff that I've said I don't like. It really irritates me when people try and 'convert' me. I might take the piss, but I don't ever mean it, I just like to have a laugh. I promise. :)
My favourite band ever is Green Day, and has been since January, 1994. What can I say? I was young and impressionable. But they're just so fucking good. I really can't help myself. Billie Joe Armstrong is God. Enough said.
There are a lot of bands I listen to, though. If you're interested, go back and most of them are listed on that page. I obviously can't list every. single. band. that I like. I'd die trying.
I'm a big horror movie fan. I like zombies. I can easily watch zombie movies all night. They never get old. The best part is, there's no such thing as a bad zombie movie. It's impossible.
I hate re-makes of movies. Texas Chain Saw Massacre & The Amityville Horror are both God-awful Although, I have to confess; I'm a fan of the Dawn of the Dead remake. It was a good one.
I guess you could say I like sports. I like football [as in soccer], rugby and cricket. People don't understand why I like cricket, because very little happens. But any sport where they have a tea break is fine with me.
I waste far too much money on band merchandise, CDs & DVDs. It's a disease. I need help. I wish I didn't keep doing it, because I'm always poor for weeks afterwards and that blows, but at least I have my band merch.
I have a big, fat mouth that I have no control over which says sarcastic & piss-taking things. Some people don't get it; some people think I'm just mean and rude. It's not like that, honestly. My mouth works quicker than my brain so things tend to slip out before I've even realised I've said them.
I also love to tell ridiculous lies to gullible people, just to see if they believe me or not. Maybe that part of me is a little cruel. ;)
I have a strong self-destructive side that I have to keep in line. She behaves for the most part, but sometimes she gets out and things get messy. My friends like her though. She's sociable. Her name is RUBY because she's very fond of red wine.
I'm going to be a music journalist once university is over. I'm determined. I don't get many things right in life, and I normally fail at fucking everything, but I'm so determined not to fail at this one. I want to live in either London, San Francisco or Toronto. I love big cities, and those 3 are my favourite I've been to. Ideally, I'd love to live in San Francisco, but it's a massive jump. I'll probably end up living in London though. That's not necessarily a bad thing because it's the greatest place in the world, and sometimes I think I'm too British for my own good. I
I'd also like to be a Crime Historian, but there's the benefit to being a journalist; I can write my crime history in my spare time.
I like the Mafia a little too much. Organised Crime is a truly amazing thing. I don't think people should be punished for crimes if they're clever and what's cleverer than organised crime?
